cesare attolini

EVOLUTION • Cesare

«My father Vincenzo dared to question the British model, completing a real revolution, making his coat soft and light as a shirt or cardigan, and introducing many other technical innovations. And we have drawn on his teachings, making the jacket more suitable for contemporary lifestyles time after time». These are the words of Cesare Attolini, the most talented among Vincenzo’s six sons and he who since a very young age joined him in the shop, learning the technical skills of cutting cloths and the secrets of shaping and constructing the jacket, unique as much as innovative, and which continues to claim new and enthusiastic followers around the world.

As his natural successor, Cesare feeds his work with the same passion and dedication of his father. In addition to the same tenacity and constant commitment to perfectionism. Not surprisingly, after the first few years in the workshop of Via Vetriera, he decided at a young age to leave Naples to hone his skills in design and modelling. At only twenty-two years of age, he is in Turin directing one of the most prestigious fashion houses of the time. In little time he gives life, before any of his brothers and reaching a huge commercial success, to a line characterised by the perfect combination of craftsman techniques, learned by working alongside his father and mentor, with the more commercial style. Once again, it was an acute intuition, as this would then become the production method adopted by many ‘made in Italy’ companies and not only. Following the experience of Turin, with his sought-after talent, Cesare continues to be engaged in the design and creation of new lines, contributing to the success of many other firms. Just as it occurs with those blessed with a great sense of smell that are courted by the most prestigious beauty labels, in competition to create the most extraordinary and unique scents.

Cesare remembers: «I’ve always had a precept instilled in me by my father as a boy: to always do my work seriously, without trying easy shortcuts or compromises which may even reward you in the short term but will always turn you down in the long run».
